Jimmy and Beth Mills along with Rick and Diane
Fortini opened "Cycle Logic" in Hanover Massachusetts in April 1991. The name didn't last long as we
soon found out it was trademarked by a shop in Colorado. To keep the name as close as possible to the original, we
changed the last three letters... hence The Cycle Lodge!
The
Cycle Lodge became a fixture on the South Shore during the 1990's for both family and cycling enthusiasts. We led
rides for the Mass Bay Road Club and South Shore Bicycle Club, helped organize the first trail maintenance day
in Wompatuck, worked races, built trails, road the PMC, and ran safety clinics for area schools.
Most importantly we developed a reputation for honesty
and excellence in customer service. We quickly became the most trusted bicycle source on the South Shore!
Raising a daughter and other career opportunities led to the
difficult decision of closing the retail store in 1999. Jimmy decided to service bicycles part time from Plymouth while
pursuing a career teaching middle school math and science. Beth became Director of Operations for a recruiting
firm while Rick kept his job as an engineer. Diane, always a USCF official, became a National Commissar for
USA Cycling and "The Administrator" for bicycle racing in the Northeast!
Jimmy's passion for cycling combined with a dedicated following and countless referrals has
prompted him and Beth to reopen the store for 2009.
Their
new store in Pembroke offers new and used bicycles custom fit to a cyclist's body and riding style. Accessories, clothing, helmets, and a positive attitude await.
We're Back!
